Ensure that receivables due to the company are collected in a timely manner while maintaining strong relationships with our customers through positive and respectful communication.  To achieve this, the team must develop strong relationships with their customers, set and maintain credit limits, review and release orders, allocate payments, and manage the collections and litigation processes to reduce the risk and cost of bad debt.

What will I be doing?

  • Confident, polite and assertive collection of debts via phone, email presented in line with company values
  • Management of circa 3,000 active accounts utilising a mixture of methods to ensure focus is applied where required to achieve team targets
  • Query management to solve customer issues and allow payment
  • Promotion of the MSC brand and it’s values, as an ambassador of the company
  • Continuous review of credit accounts and debt to ensure that risk of default is minimised
  • Accurate and timely processing of information and transactions including cash allocation and payment processing onto the sales ledger
  • Daily monitoring of accounts ‘on hold’ and actively contributing to a reduction in overdue debt
  • Utilisation of experience and collections skills to realise positive results when dealing with customers while recognising and acting upon warning signs
  • Preparation of administrative documentation to ensure compliance to governance policies of the company including bad debt write-off and administrator / liquidation paperwork
  • Payment of cheques and cash into the local bank branch as required
  • Any other duties required in line with business and departmental needs
