The Marketing & Events Specialist is responsible for designing, creating, and delivering marketing promotional events to support the growth and expansion of company products and services.



  • Lead pre-event planning and execution including creative design, content messaging, customer experience goals, and cross functional team participation.
  • Aggressively research and gather information on each event to achieve quality event productions.
  • Make advance site visits and secure resources to help create the most successful event outcome.
  • Evaluate and manage the exhibit show material for all events and tradeshow. Compares options for most economical options, tracks deadlines for development of materials, and ensures all necessary items are received.
  • Executes the project plan to include contract negotiations and specifications most favorable to the company, labor coordination, exhibit approval and coordination, logistics, and on-site event delivery and decision making.
  • Manages relationships with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Prepares budget recommendations and communicates periodic progress reports to management on actual spend, cost savings, opportunity cost, and any variances.
  • Evaluates performance and outcome for each event and proposes new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process where possible.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required



  • BA or BS degree or the equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of two years work experience in event planning, including familiarity with related concepts, practices, and procedures is required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, web & social media, image and design tools is required.



  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision is required.
  • Demonstrate creative, proactive thinking
  • Multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively to achieve results is required
  • Strong organization skills to plan and manage time effectively is required.
  • Strong negotiation skills required.
  • Flexible interpersonal skills that foster relationships across a variety of partners and customers required.



  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 30% of the time are required.
