  • Develop and implement plans for achieving inventory turns goals, and execute supplier strategies developed by Product Management.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and product managers to identify and reconcile gaps and supply shortages; devise an early warning system for issue identification; and expedite and formulate alternate solutions to resolve backorders in a timely manner.
  • Identify slow-moving inventory and initiate supplier returns, and work cross-functionally to devise ways to sell through the inventory.
  • Process receiving and inventory exceptions according to established time and process guidelines.
  • Assist product managers with developing strategies to purchase product at the lowest possible price.
  • Ensure product quality and timely delivery through frequent interaction with vendors and product managers.
  • Meet with merchandise and product managers to discuss and resolve supplier issues, and review product line performance relative to goal.
  • Review supplier performance and meet with them to address issues, negotiate improvement opportunities, and develop and implement action plans to address and correct service issues.
  • Work with demand planners to develop predefined scenarios for demand shaping, supply relocation, and capacity to balance and optimize supply and demand.
  • Coordinate, communicate, review and validate procurement and distribution plans (based on business rules, lead times, unconstrained forecasts, sales orders, safety stock requirements, etc.).
  • Review fulfillment tool reports, identify product database errors, and take appropriate action.
