<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Metalworking Sales Manager is responsible for maximizing sales growth and profitability for metalworking sales and for developing and managing the Metalworking Specialists and Senior Metalworking Specialists within an assigned region. 

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Maximizes sales growth and profitability for metalworking sales within assigned region.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Implements the metalworking customer segment plan within assigned region with support from the field.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develops and manages the Senior MW Specialists and Metalworking Specialists within assigned region.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Supports Regional Sales Managers, District Sales Managers and Business Development Managers in the development and implementation MW growth strategies within assigned region.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Drives the team to deliver strong Application Optimization savings within targeted metalworking accounts in the region.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Drives a strong culture of process improvements for MSC’s customers utilizing technology from our suppliers, Applications Optimization and MillMax technology
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develops strong regional supplier relationships to support local MW growth initiatives.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Coordinates regional delivery of continued metalworking training to the metalworking sales team as needed.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Supports the continued execution of solutions-based selling to drive metalworking sales growth. (Vending, VMI, CMI, etc.)
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Works cross-functionally with various MSC teams to drive and support metalworking sales goals and initiatives.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Leads and drives metalworking initiatives being initiated by the company.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Identifies and prioritizes, with the assistance of various functional areas, opportunities for improvement.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Performs all duties inherent in the role of an MSC Regional Sales Manager, as defined by the MSC Code of Conduct, to include hiring, termination, review, and development of Associates.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

 

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent work experience is required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Minimum of 5 years metalworking supplier or Industrial distribution experience in a technical related or sales related position is required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Minimum of 2 years of outside sales management experience is required or minimum 2 years MSC sales management experience is required. 

     

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">SKILLS:

 

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Understanding of metalworking customer segment.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Business analysis experience and the ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities are required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 50-75% of the time may be required.
