Job Title - Analyst, Data Logistics
BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: The Logistics Analyst is responsible for the analysis and reporting of logistics information. This position works cross-functionally to determine ways to optimize service levels, improve supply chain efficiency and minimize costs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Data Analysis: Analyze logistics data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Utilize tools such as Excel, Access, Tableau, and Alteryx to manipulate and visualize data effectively. Using the analysis to provide recommendations for process improvement and cost savings initiatives within the logistics functions. Generates Reports on an ongoing and ad hoc basis.
· Carrier Analysis: Evaluate carrier performance through the development of scorecards that measure key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyze data related to carrier performance to perform optimal decision-making and optimize carrier selection, mode selection, etc. Generates reports on an ongoing and ad hoc basis.
· Project Management: Lead logistics-related projects from conception through implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives, while tracking project timelines and objective achievement.
· Financial Analysis: Where and when required, perform financial analysis to assess the cost effectiveness of logistics operations and carrier contracts. Monitor and review freight bill audit and payment data for coding and financial accuracy.
· Process Improvements: Identify inefficiencies in current logistics and support processes and implement cross functional solutions to enhance operational performance.
· Operational Execution: · Plans, organizes, and executes Logistics activities and projects while ensuring assigned target dates are met.
· Performs daily audits and maintains manifest tables within the AS/400 system to ensure optimized routing and order fulfillment.
· Creates or maintains on regular basis standard operating procedures for logistics processes. · Performs a quarterly profitability analysis of existing programs.
· Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
· Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
What You Need:
· Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience required.
· Minimum of three years of analytical experience required.
· Computer proficiency in Word Processing, Excel or Access spreadsheet software required.
· Experience and proficiency with data analysis tools such as Tableau or other data analytics software.
· Excellent time management and organization skills required.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
· Bonus Points If You Have: · Project Management experience preferred.
Other Requirements:
· A valid driver’s license may be required.
· Position requires up to 10% of travel
· This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”)
