The Advanced Analytics Product Owner is leading a high-matrixed team with core Data Scientists to delivering an array of solutions to improve business outcomes. This role collaborates with business leaders to identify beneficial areas to enhance data quality, reliability and opportunities for data solutions to acquire, repair, and sustain MSC's customer relationships.


  • Provides technical leadership, solutioning partnership, direction, coaching and mentoring.
  • Expert understanding and experience in the required tech stack.
  • Develops metrics and tracks/evaluates performance.
  • Defines all product requirements and communicating those requirements to the technology delivery teams.
  • Leads in feature and user story estimation, supports grooming and backlog refinement, identifies risks and mitigations, technical challenges and solution options with their team.
  • Improves the process by which data can be transformed to support business decisions that impact business outcomes wherever and whenever that analytics/data science solutions needs to occur, considering both traditional, emerging, and embedded methods and data environments.
  • Stays current with latest cloud technologies, patterns, and methodologies; share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to key stakeholders. May be required to present ideas to larger audience for review and buy-in.
  • Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as require

  • Bachelor’s degree in applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, or other business /social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of wide-ranging analytics experience, in areas such as SQL based analytics, business intelligence and reporting, machine learning/ statistical modeling required.
  • Minimum three years of experience working effectively on analytic teams, and delivering on business needs, and partnering closely with technology required.
  • Minimum three years of experience capturing and documenting complex business and functional requirements required.
  • Minimum three years of process definition and documentation experience required.
  • Minimum two years of experience with operationalizing analytic solutions and integrating them with production data sources and building prototypes required.
  • Minimum one year of experience building and applying data science methodologies preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in product design preferred.



  • Demonstrated experience working closely with senior leadership
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally in a large organization
  • Strong Knowledge about Agile techniques: User Stories, Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Burn Down Metrics, Velocity etc.
  • Strong knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs includes fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
