BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Automation Specialist executes automated marketing campaigns by working in concert with internal and external teams to implement marketing programs that build awareness and generate demand. This role is a point person for all things email, supports virtually all marketing centers of excellence, oversees the functionality of systems used to execute MSC marketing campaigns, and works cross-functionally to continuously improve both processes and performance of campaigns.

 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for leveraging marketing automation software to execute on digital and traditional marketing campaigns
  • Implements multi-channel automated campaigns such e-mail, direct mail, welcome campaigns, and loyalty programs
  • Coordinates and proofs digital assets needed to execute on campaigns (digital ads, landing pages, forms, etc.)
  • Designs and builds automation flows using campaign management software
  • Serves as a primary contact for building and deploying multi-touch, logic-driven nurture streams
  • Segments lists based on behaviors such as past purchases, email engagement, and website interactions
  • Creates distribution lists for campaigns based upon agreed upon criteria from the business
  • Executes dynamic email campaigns, schedules deployment, and tracks performance (open rate, click-thru rate, unsubscribes)
  • Maintains and manages schedule for email campaign deployment
  • Works with the Customer Master Data team to minimize list fatigue and opt-outs to improve email deliverability
  • Executes A/B testing (messaging, CTAs, subject lines, templates, audience segments, etc.) to continually optimize the performance of campaigns
  • Maintains expertise and understanding the latest marketing automation best practices and incorporates them into the process
  • Responsible for coordinating and maintaining product data feeds for use in digital marketing
  • Stays current with digital marketing & related technology trends
  • Ensures websites are tagged properly for digital marketing program execution and tracking
  • Ensure timeliness and quality of all deliverables
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose; participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required
  • Three years of experience in campaign management, email marketing, or marketing operations required
  • Proficient in IBM Campaign or a comparable marketing automation platform (Adobe Campaign, Marketo, Eloqua)
  • Experience working within an email platform such as Silverpop, Yesmail, or MailChimp
  • Practical experience with Salesforce.com a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external associates and teams
  • Ability and flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of email marketing and best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

·A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed are required.
