The Sr Analytics Product Lead Translator – Applied Analytics is responsible for driving value in data science products that will address MSC’s most complex commercial and operational challenges. The Sr Product manager owns the products end-to-end from identification and prioritization of problems to communication of end results within the business and measuring the business value of results. The Sr Product Manager works in a cross-functional role, acting as the bridge between technical and business roles. The Sr Product Manager will manage more junior product managers and build a cross-functional and effective team.



· Work closely with business customers in in product, engineering, operations, finance, and marketing to translate their needs or challenges into machine learning or statistical problems

· Drive strategy of advanced analytics at MSC and priorities for advanced analytics team

· Define product goals and translate them into technical specifications

· Own the end user experience for analytics solutions and backlog of use case priorities

· Develop analytical frameworks, models, roadmaps, and metrics for the team and broader organization

· Responsible for seeing solutions through to deployment, including user-centered design and change management and careful tracking/measurement

· Responsible for MSC-wide capability building and building analytics knowledge and buy-in from leadership

· Perform all duties inherent in the role of MSC Manager as defined in the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, termination, review, and development of associates

· Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission

· Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.



· Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline: Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biostatistics, Economics, Data Science, etc.

· Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience (e.g. data science, data engineering, consulting, product owner)

· Prior experience working in a data science or data engineer role

· Experience with managing products and teams

· Experience with any of the following types of data science techniques: Forecasting, Recommendation Systems, Logistics Optimization, Churn Analysis, Segmentation Analysis, Deep Learning

· Experience with Databricks, PySpark / Spark, Snowflake, dbt, Azure Cloud, Google Cloud



· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to communicate technical concepts in a simple, compelling way

· Brings high energy and passionate outlook to the role and has strong sense of ownership, with the ability to work alone or in a team environment

· Flexibility and ability to work with ambiguous problems

· Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, deadline driven team environment

· Strong bias towards action and proven ability to work iteratively and quickly to show incremental impact and value.



· A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 5% of the time may be required.
