The Senior BI Developer will turn data into information, information into insight, and insight into business decisions. Work closely with business to help define business requirements and recommend alternatives to assist in presenting the best options for users. This is an agile environment which requires the role to be flexible, self-driven and collaborative.



  • Provides feedback, accurate estimates and update progress/status to assure proper tracking for active sprints/projects in tracking system(s)
  • Provides report and dashboard/visualization expertise.
  • Participates in gathering and analysis, technical design, build, testing, documentation and project planning
  • Gathers and analyzes user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for report or dashboard development.
  • Performs data exploration and analysis using all available tools.
  • Reviews, analyzes and understands functional, security and performance requirements and specifications
  • Performs unit testing on all development work and support QA team for thorough and efficient end to end testing
  • Assists in building documentation for all development.
  • Stays current with latest cloud technologies, patterns, and methodologies; share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to key stakeholders. May be required to present ideas to larger audience for review and buy-in.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required



  • Bachelor’s degree in in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Analysis or a related study required.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, business or related discipline, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of data to insights on BI, reporting and analytics platforms from at least one toolset (e.g. Tableau, MicroStrategy, Looker, SAS, Power BI, etc.)
  • Minimum of three years of experience architecting, designing, and developing enterprise wide dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Experience in performance tuning of complex reports and large datasets for optimal performance and maintainability
  • Experience with common Java application development related technologies – Servlets, XML, JSP, HTML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, Java script a plus
  • Experience with DevOps process (exposure to GitHub, Jenkins or other CI/CD tools)
  • Experience with ThoughtSpot preferred



  • Strong Agile / Design Thinking / Rapid Prototyping experience
  • Strong SQL skills (T-SQL, PL/SQL, MySQL, Redshift)
  • Sourcing from BigQuery a plus
  • BI tool certification a plus



  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 20% of the time may be required


Compensation starting at $74,550.00 and up commensurate with experience
