The Specialist, Supplier Business Development develops and grows our business with new suppliers and the lion’s share of our supplier community. This includes aggressive supplier recruiting and onboarding, as well as executing new, scalable ways to drive profitable growth in partnership with our suppliers.



  • Continuously recruits promising new suppliers that can help us bring more and better solutions to our customers
  • Negotiates business terms and execute agreements with new suppliers
  • Re-negotiates business terms and execute agreements with existing suppliers to drive program improvements and mutual growth
  • Identifies opportunities to enable all suppliers to add their unique contribution to the MSC value proposition
  • Helps continuously refine and improve the "Why MSC" story for our entire supply base
  • Executes growth programs that complement and support Category Strategy initiatives
  • Identifies new, scalable ways to drive profitable growth in partnership with our suppliers
  • Engages with suppliers to understand market trends and landscape
  • Aligns supplier goals and MSC goals to maximize investment and optimize programs
  • Builds quality supplier relationships and maintains up-to-date information in order to drive profitable growth.
  • Cultivate new, trusted relationships across the supplier community.

  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations or equivalent area of study required.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience required.
  • Experience in Category Management, Sales or Marketing preferred.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency required; MS Excel Intermediate skill level or above required.
  • AS400, Salesforce and SharePoint experience preferred.

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 10% of the time may be required.
