Position Summary: 

 

The position of Director of Operations is responsible, and held accountable for all warehousing operations, quality of goods and services, the safety and security of all team members, and the maintenance and operations of facilities within their area of operation.  This position will also require a comprehensive project management acumen, lean initiatives, and the ability to stand up AIS operations in domestic and international locations. This position also requires analysis and leadership of all organizational processes related to supply chain operations and the ability to effectively collaborate with other functional areas to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.

The team member reports to the Senior Vice President Supply Chain & Operations

  • Responsible for Operational P&L of all reporting functional areas and facilities under their control
  • Establishes operational budgets for all responsible areas and held accountable for managing expenses of said budget.
  • Responsible for identifying, acquiring, and managing all human and equipment capital requirements.
  • Ensures that all products (OEM, discreet & VMI) are delivered to our customers On Time (99.95% OTD)
  • Develops, implements, and reviews operational plans, policies, and procedures in coordination with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ensures that the focus towards safety and quality is integral to all AIS service and support operations and the AIS Strategic/Business plan
  • Executes smooth and efficient services that meet the expectations and requirements of customers and suppliers.
  • Communicate customer issues with the operations team members and devises ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
  • Coaches and mentors direct report team members to assess and/or improve their professional skills and capabilities and ensures they are adequately trained to be an integral part of the AIS team.
  • Responsible for all the inventory in their areas of operation.  Will manage the adjustments and the distribution of goods to ensure accuracy and control

 

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborates with Sr VP Supply Chain with the identification and implementation of strategically located warehouse operations partnered with MSC or as AIS standalone branch warehouses both domestically and internationally.
  • Identifies the human and equipment capital to effectively and efficiently run VMI, discrete, and OEM goods from these warehouses
  • Coordinates with another Director of Ops  when standing up new facilities/warehouses to incorporate wireless warehouse and technology and a different Dir of Operations  for any VMI program requirements
  • Collaborates with all departments to resource Continual Improvement projects (including Lean Kaizen Events), monitor the progress of Continual Improvement projects across all functional areas within AIS and meets regularly with champions, business owners and Continual Improvement Professionals across all to stay abreast of all issues.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with partner companies to continuously incorporate lessons learned and best practices into AIS’s program.

 

 

Education/Experience required for position:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Operations Management, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent is required
  • Minimum 5 years Managerial Experience
  • Proven record of operational control and results
  • Black Belt/Lean Kaizen
