<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">As a Category Strategy Manager, you’ll use your drive for results to execute the Category strategy through implementation activities including strategy management, vendor relationships, category marketing, and cross-functional collaboration.  In this role you will be responsible for key vendor relationship management and negotiation, product line value proposition, and annual tactics planning.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Use your solid business acumen and strong execution and customer focus to implement tactics, assess results and adapt based upon outcomes.

 

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Manage day-to-day activities of your assigned product line(s) with suppliers
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Use your skill at cultivating supplier relationships to lead negotiations and contract resolutions
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Leverage your category and industry expertise, data and insights to help execute cross-functional initiatives to drive the business by serving as the Subject Matter Expert for your assigned product line(s)
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Create customer solutions for assigned product line(s) and lead execution in partnership with Sales
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Partner with the Category Operations team to implement pricing strategy and improve processes
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Monitor product line contribution margin (sales, cost, coop negotiation, supply chain opportunities) to identify and lead execution of actions to drive growth
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Articulate product line value propositions and whitespace
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Manage product, brand, and vendor rationalization
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Prepare thorough vendor performance reviews

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">WHAT IT TAKES

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The self-directed, category management professional we seek should have these skills and competencies.

 

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">At least five years of experience in distribution, supplier management and negotiations, business development, product management, marketing or merchandising management, or supply chain
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and successfully <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">navigate the organization’s people and processes to accomplish objectives
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong customer focus and understanding of their needs and expectations in addition to market direction and trends
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to diagnose problems quickly and find solutions
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Comfortable negotiating externally and representing the best interests of the company
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong written and verbal communications with presentation experience
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 10% of the time
